Will Mitchell
About
Will Mitchell is a DWI/Criminal Defense Attorney with his primary office in Austin, Texas, where he has practiced law since 2006. The Law Office of Will Mitchell accepts criminal cases statewide. The primary focus of Will’s practice is intoxicated related offenses, driver’s license issues, and drug possession cases.
Will was raised in Kerrville, Texas, and attended law school at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio where he graduated near the top of his class. While attending St. Mary’s, Will served as a Senior Associate Editor for the nationally recognized St. Mary’s Law Journal, and served as the Research Assistant to the Dean of the law school.
Upon graduating, Will’s first law office was in Boerne, Texas, on Main Street where his career began as a successful criminal attorney. After a year in Kendall County, Will joined a criminal defense firm in Austin. It was at this law firm that Will developed and fine-tuned his criminal defense trial skills, tactics, and techniques. With a high DWI case volume practice, Will has the opportunity to try many different approaches to unique criminal cases that have yielded wonderful results for his clients. Some highlights include “Not Guilty” jury verdicts on high breath test DWI cases in Bexar, Caldwell, Travis, and Victoria Counties, and DWI dismissals in many other surrounding counties.
In addition to successfully handling hundreds of DWI and criminal cases, Will has received some of the top training in the state. Will has taken the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) Practitioner’s Course and the Certified Practitioner’s Update. These courses are the exact same ones police officers across the United States take in order to be certified to give the SFSTs. Will has also taken an Advanced Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) Course with Dr. Steve Rubenzer. HGN is one of the three standardized field sobriety tests. Also, Will is a Certified Breath Test Operator and a Certified Breath Alcohol Technician of the Intoxilyzer 5000EN. Will has also completed seminars put on by the top lawyers and experts in the country called Mastering Scientific Evidence and a Multi-Device Breath Testing Mega-Course, and numerous forensic blood testing courses. Will graduated from NCDD’s Summer Session Trial Training at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2011 and 2019.
Will has the same training that the DWI cops have, and then some more training to beat them in the courtroom.
